Dancer and pianist – our take on Virginia Woolf’s Orlando
Photo: Jens PaapeThe dancer and actress Franca Schuller invited me to create a piece with her using texts from Virginia Woolf’s Orlando. To accompany her and set the mood, I chose passages from works by William Byrd, Georg Friedrich Händel, Johann Sebastian Bach, Franz Schubert, Frédéric Chopin, and Alban Berg. In these two excerpts I am playing William Byrd’s Galliardas Passamezzo, and some of Franz Schubert’s second Moment Musical.
